Indenture and List of Negroes on Montpelier Estate (New Works) 31 July 1798.
Indenture 1 August 1798 between Charles Rose Ellis & Elizabeth Lady Hervey, widow & relict of Rt Hon John Augustus Hervey, eldest son of Earl of Bristol - his only daughter & heir Elizabeth Hervey aged 18.
Notes: List of slaves on a plantation in 1798 - and lease conveying them with other property. It transfers all slaves upon & belonging to the said plantation "sugarworks" - there are 349 named in the List. Settlement on the marriage of Charles Rose Ellis Esq. with The Hon. Elizabeth Hervey.
